Man arrested in connection with assault in Long Eaton

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Long Eaton.

At about 8.45am on Saturday, a 35-year-old man was assaulted by two men in Derby Road.

He suffered a wound to his abdomen, which police believe may have been caused by a knife, and cuts and bruises to his head.

A 20-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and he is curently being questioned in custody.

Derby Road was closed between College Street and King Street following the incident to allow evidence gathering.

The victim was treated at the Royal Derby Hospital but later discharged.
