A WOMAN was left with an injured hand after a man grabbed her handbag as he ran past her on Saturday morning.

The 46-year-old woman was walking along Stanton Road in Sandiacre at around 6.45am.

As she approached Sandiacre Football Club and Ladycross Primary School she stepped into the road to let who she thought was a jogger run past her. But instead, the man – wearing a grey hooded jumper and dark tracksuit bottoms – grabbed her handbag and carried on running.

She tried to grab her handbag back but failed.

Her phone and purse as well as personal papers were in the stolen bag.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s and around 5ft 8 or 9ins tall.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the black Radley handbag since the incident or anyone who has any information to call them on the force’s new non-emergency number, 101.
