A masked robber pulled a necklace from a woman and robbed her of rings and cash on her doorstep, police have said.
As the woman entered her front door in Hobson Drive a man suddenly pushed her from behind, causing her to fall to the floor.
He demanded jewellery and she handed over five rings from her fingers. He then grabbed cash from the kitchen worktop nearby and then the necklace from her neck.
It was only when the woman’s dog intervened and ran at him that he ran off. The woman then noticed the man had an accomplice waiting outside.
The robber was described as abut 5ft 10ins tall and stocky with a bruise under his left eye. The rest of his face was covered by a black scarf and he wore a black beanie hat, black padded jacket and black trousers.
His accomplice was slim and wore a black hat and black jacket.
The incident happened at about 8pm on Saturday February 9 but police have only this week appealed for information.
