POLICE have released an image of a robber they think held a knife to the throat of a taxi driver in Long Eaton.

The driver picked a man up in Market Place and took him to Briar Gate, as he asked.

When they arrived the robber, sat behind the driver, leaned forward putting the knife to his throat and demanded money.

The 53-year-old, who cut his hand during the ordeal, handed over cash and a mobile phone.

The incident happened just after 9pm on Sunday April 3 but police have just released the image.

The robber was described as white, in his mid-twenties, about 6ft tall, with a slim build and short black hair. He had a very thin oval face and was wearing a light grey hoody.

Anyone who recognises the evo-fit should call Det Con Matt Goodwin on 0345 123 33 33.
