Police want to speak to this man about Ilkeston assault

Detectives in Ilkeston are appealing for witnesses following an assault and would like to identify a man on CCTV who could help with enquiries.

The assault victim was stood outside Manor Fish Bar, South Street, he was approached by a man in his mid twenties who punched him in the face which knocked him to the floor.

The offender, who is described as medium build with a shaved head, then ran off.

The incident happened on Sunday February 5 at 1am.

Police have just released a CCTV image of the man they want to talk to in connection with the assault which took place the night following a day of heavy snowfall in the area.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “Detectives believe there were a number of witnesses who could help with the investigation and urge anyone with information or who recognise the man in the picture to contact Erewash CID.”
