A COTMANHAY newsagents has suffered two fires in as many weeks.

Firefighters were called to Miller’s News in Cotmanhay Road on Monday night after smoke was seen pouring out of the window of the flat above.

After entering the property they found a small fire on the ground floor.

Police were asked to attend the scene at about 11.30pm and an investigation on Tuesday concluded that the fire was not suspicious

Last week the Advertiser reported that the newsagents was the victim of a separate arson attack.

And a fortnight ago the owner’s car, cash and cigarettes were stolen by burglars.

Anyone with information is urged to call Derbyshire police on 0345 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
