‘Shoplifters’ injure worker

A SUPERMARKET worker was hit by a car as she tried to stop two women allegedly making off with stolen clothes.

At about 11.50am last Tuesday, the worker at Asda in Long Eaton tried to stop the alleged shoplifters from leaving the store.

They escaped in a car, colliding with the shopworker, leaving her with a broken wrist.

She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment.

Two women, aged 40 and 22, have since been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and wounding with intent.
