TWO men have appeared in court charged with producing cannabis after a huge factory fire, which forced hundreds of villagers to stay indoors.
Residents in Risley and Breaston were told to keep windows shut because of toxic fumes and potentially explosive cylinders during the blaze in Draycott Road, Breaston, on Wednesday.
Hung Nguyen, 32, and Som Vu, 47, both of no fixed abode, appeared before Derby Magistrates on Friday.
A 62-year-old Castle Donington man has been bailed.
The fire was reported by a passer-by at about 4.15pm.
Police found what they think is cannabis growing equipment inside and are linking it to another factory premises in Huss’s Lane, Long Eaton, where hundreds of suspected cannabis plants have been discovered.
