Eight performers from the Awsworth and Brinsley-based Team Revolution School of Dance have sprung a big surprise by taking third in the team category at the World Dance Championships.
Staged at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, “The Worlds” brought together more than 1,000 dancers from countries across the globe.
And all the performers came under scrutiny from more than 20 judges overseeing the event at the world-renowned venue.
Representing England and Nottinghamshire, Team Revolution’s rising stars led by principal Nichola Buckley and sponsored by NEXT, pulled out the stops with top routines in freestyle and street dance categories.
Stiff opposition from dancing stars from South Africa, Norway, Germany and Denmark, among others, ensured a tough competition for Team Revolution whose third place finish delighted one and all.
Making their marks were Phoebe Dobbin, Olivia Anthony, Emma Felstead, Faith Wilson, Georgia Smith, Shannon and Brooke Wright and Mia Gilham Coles.
“I am so proud of my dancers, they flew the flag for Nottinghamshire and England in great style and to take third place in such a prestigious event is a great achievement,” said Nichola.
