A DAY of discussions about proposals to build 1,200 homes in Ilkeston is due to be held next month.

Representatives from the two action groups formed against the plans to build on Manner Floods and Quarry Hill Road have been invited to the event at the Arena on Thursday December 15.

Panels of borough and county councillors and planning officers will discuss the proposals, alongside landowners and residents.

The day will be divided into a general discussion about housing in Ilkeston and more specific discussions about the housing proposals, including the Stanton Ironworks site.

There will be a public gallery for residents.
