A gritter has succumbed to Derbyshire’s harsh winter weather on an icy road.
Reader Emma Lewis captured the dramatic moment the vehicle overturned close to the Cat and Fiddle, near Buxton, at about 10.30am today.
Police closed part of the road as the gritter was uprighted.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
The Cat and Fiddle is often classed as one of the most dangerous routes in the UK.
Emergency services have this morning dealt with a number of accidents on the county’s hazardous roads.
Derbyshire is currently in the grip of a big freeze – with ice and snow affecting parts of the county for the past two weeks.
Some areas, however, have not seen any snow despite Met Office warnings – much to the disappointment of lovers of the white stuff.
