Driver sped away from injured woman in hit and run

A 21-year-old Kirk Hallam woman is in hospital with a suspected broken leg being hit by a car her in Ilkeston which then drove off.

The incident happened at approximately 1.3am this morning (Friday August 22) in Little Hallam Lane.

A car, thought to be a dark coloured Ford Mondeo, struck the female pedestrian and failed to stop before driving away towards Little Hallam Hill.

The woman was taken to the Queens Medical Centre where she remained this morning.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the collision.
