KEEN gardeners can get free tips on how to encourage wildlife into the garden and home composting at an event this weekend.
Trefor Owen and Ian Furley from Derby-based social enterprise gardening organisation Red Welly team are giving people the chance to build a wildlife habitat to take home.
Sessions will be held at 10am and 1pm on Saturday at the Food Hub at Derby College in Morley and will include talks on ponds and water gardening.
It is part of a series of monthly ‘guru days’, which are set to include a mix of informal talks, tours, presentations and practical activities with a different focus each time and also aim to help solve gardeners’ problems.
The Food Hub is currently encouraging residents to grow their own produce through activities such as community growing schemes.
