People interested in a job in the building trade can sign up for a course at a new college in Stanton-By-Dale.
Erewash MP Jessica Lee attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the recently-opened Derbyshire Construction Skills College, in Littlewell Lane.
An open day was held for people to look around.
Nicola Wheatley, business development manager, said: “We are able to offer a range of NVQ Diplomas in construction site supervision, single ply roofing, roof sheeting and cladding, roof slater, roof slater and tiler and built-up felt roofing.”
The college also provides health and safety accredited training with a large number of popular health and safety training courses.
All trainers have relevant on-site experience.
Nicola said: “In addition to our accredited training courses we also run a number of popular health and safety sessions and workshops at our purpose-built training centre.
“We deliver an extensive range of health and safety courses and NVQs. These courses can also be modified to suit companies’ individual requirements.”
Derbyshire Construction Skills College aims to provide value for money relevant training in order to meet the needs of local businesses and their staff and help them overcome the skills and training challenges facing the construction industry.
