STUDENTS have taken a stand against bullying by wearing blue for the day at Ormiston Ilkeston Academy.
The non-uniform day to mark national anti-bullying week was aimed at raising awareness of the impact bullying has on students of all ages.
Pupils paid £1 to wear blue on Friday and anti-bullying badges were sold, meaning hundreds of pounds was donated to the charity www.beatbullying.org.
Students from the school’s Time Out team gave talks to different year groups throughout the week.
School arts co-ordinator Kate Le Prevost said: “It was very well received.
“Peers teaching peers is always a good way to make this important issue relevant to students.”
