Trent Barton drivers Leeann Shearer and Jonno Beecham celebrate the success of My15 since it's route extension to East Midlands Airport.

Trent Barton created the hourly My15 bus link in March 2018 to offer residents of Ilkeston, Stapleford and Sandiacre easier holiday travel and better access to thousands of new jobs being created around the airport.

Managing director Jeff Counsell said: “The new addition to My15 has really taken off with workers at the airport and in the many businesses based nearby.

“The number of customers has exceeded our expectations and the local communities that My15 serves have embraced their new direct link to the airport.”

He added: “East Midlands Airport and surrounding businesses have ambitious plans to be a major transport and employment hub over the next 10 years, and we’re doing our bit to help drive that growth by connecting workers and holidaymakers around the clock.

“By deploying newly refurbished buses to boost the fleet, Trent Barton has given My15 more buses that run more often to give a sustainable, comfortable, affordable way to get to and from work.”

The route has proved popular in more ways than one, with My15 drivers scoring 99 per cent in customer satisfaction.

Jeff said: “Our drivers really are the best in the land, and our dedicated My15 team look forward to welcoming you on board in 2019.”

East Midlands Airport and businesses in the surrounding East Midlands Enterprise Gateway area already employ 10,000 people, with a potential 20,000 new jobs to be created in the next 20 years.

Airport managing director Karen Smart said: “This corner of north-west Leicestershire is one of the fastest growing employment sites in the region with the number of jobs set to double in the next few years.

“It’s therefore more important than ever to make it as easy as possible for people from all over the region to be able to get to here, whether it’s for work or to fly from their local airport. The bus network is critical to this and I’m delighted that My15 is proving to be such a success.”
