CHRISTMAS has come very early at an Ilkeston pub this year.
Kevin Smith, manager of the Rutland Cottage pub, is pretty certain he has got the first Christmas tree up in town for another year running.
“I must be round the bend,” he said.
“But joking aside, it’s only four paydays for most people until Christmas – it’s scary.”
Kevin’s Christmas menu is out in the next two weeks at the Heanor Road pub and he hopes to be the first pub to sell out its Christmas meal spots – last year all places were booked up by September.
On December 9, Kevin is once again hosting a Christmas celebration for Ilkeston OAPs where he will be reluctantly donning a panto dame outfit.
