An Ilkeston exercise group has successfully recruited its 100th member.

Since starting in 2012, the outdoor fitness sessions run by JT Fitness Bootcamp have grown to be increasingly popular with demand so high that six sessions are now offered throughout the week.

Co-owner Jay Hind said: “We started Bootcamp in this area to try and make a positive difference to people’s lives through outdoor physical activity.

“We have seen it grow from one session a week to six, and I firmly believe it has helped and encouraged the people who attend with so many of their fears of exercise.”

With more than 50 people attending the most popular session on a Monday night at Kirk Hallam School, two new instructors have also joined the team to keep up with popular demand.

Other owner Thomas Hutchinson-Smith said: “Luke James and Jodie Wills are hardworking and experienced trainers. They bring great character to the team, and we are very lucky to be working with them.”

Running throughout the year no matter what the weather, the Bootcamp also hold regular social events including nights out and offering participation in events such as the X-Runner mud run obstacle race.

Jay added: “It is more than just a Bootcamp.

“It is a group who have socials together and partake in other events to challenge themselves, personally or just for fun.

“We also believe that there is no limit to the numbers we can attract, because of the fact that our clients recommend us to everyone they speak to, and with a fondness like that we will hopefully encourage another hundred to join us!”

The pair run both indoor and outdoor classes at Victoria Park, Friesland School and Kirk Hallam School, and cater for all abilities, from beginners to advanced.
