An Ilkeston woman has been fined £100 after she was caught flytipping seven bags of rubbish.
Erewash Borough Council neighbourhood wardens traced Kelly Wragg after she dumped bags containing food and domestic waste near her home in John Street on two occasions in November last year.
The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to dumping one bag in the first incident and six bags on a second occasion at Derby Magistrates Court on Thursday August 8, when she was also handed a 12-month conditional discharge.
Cllr Barbara Harrison said: “People who dump rubbish and leave it for others to clean up are flytippers – irresponsible people who spoil our borough.
“I know our residents will support the council in any clampdown to stop this menace and I welcome this prosecution, it should serve as a warning to anyone who thinks it is acceptable to dump waste. We are after you and we will take you to court.”
