He will appear via video link at South Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 13 in relation to these charges.

Bennell, who was once employed at a children's home in Derbyshire, has previously pleaded not guilty to eight charges of sexual assault against a boy under 16.

The former youth coach at Crewe Alexandra, who lives in Milton Keynes, denied the eight counts when he appeared at Chester Crown Court in January.

The abuse is alleged to have taken place between 1981 and 1987.
