Former MPs played a part

Not wishing to take anything away from the work that Jessica Lee has put in of late to get a new train station for Ilkeston.

But may I ask Ilkeston folk to recognise and acknowledge that it was Angela Knight, Tory MP, in the House Of Commons, on April 3 1995, who first raised the issue of the station. It was also former Labour MP Liz Blackman who pursued this with vigour in the House on March 5 2002?

Angela and Liz were the first to plant the seed for action which has now come to fruition.
