A full house greeted Emmerdale ‘bad boy’ Cain Dingle - aka actor Jeff Hordley - during a visit to Ilkeston on Saturday.

Hordley, who first appeared in the ITV soap in 2000, took time out from his busy filming schedule to meet fans at Beacon Bingo, on South Street.

The visit was also a thank-you to staff and customers for helping raise over £500,000 for the casino and gaming industry charity, CHIPS since 2005.

Hordley said: “I believe organisations which dedicate time to raising money for such deserving charities, such as CHIPS, should certainly receive recognition for their efforts.

“I hope my visit has helped to raise awareness of this fantastic accomplishment by staff and customers at Beacon Bingo.”
