PUPILS at Awsworth Primary School have launched a community fun run to raise cash for charity.
The 5k fun run, which will follow a route around Awsworth, will involve pupils, staff, parents and members of the community and all the money raised will go to Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
The charity was selected as two pupils at the school have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Teacher Mr Baxter said: “In this historic Olympics year we hope that our Awsworth 5k Fun Run will be the first of many, encouraging everyone from the school and local community to get involved, get fitter, have some fun and raise funds for a worthy cause.
“Our simple message is don’t just spectate…participate!”
