Gardens set to be judged

EXPERTS are checking out Erewash gardeners’ handiwork this week as the judging fortnight for East Midlands in Bloom starts.

There are 50 entrants in the region this year, including Ilkeston and Long Eaton.

Judges will be looking for design, planting and maintenance of open spaces, shopping centres and other areas, care of the environment, including good management of wildlife areas, and the involvement of the community.

In Ilkeston judging begins today (Thursday) at 2pm and in Long Eaton next Wednesday at 9.30am.
