Gents pose at train station on day out

editorial image

With news that Ilkeston’s new railway station has been delayed, we thought it apt to share this picture with ‘Tiser readers.

The photo is from M Joseph JintyMan Gabrielli’s collection and shows gentlemen at the town’s former train station in the early 1900s, most likely between 1900 and 1922.

On Facebook Charlotte Mckinley wrote: “My great grandad is in the middle on the back row. I think it was an annual day out from what I remember my nan telling me.”
