A weight-loss expert from Ilkeston has struck gold for the work she does in helping more than 100 people in the area to lose weight every week.
Jules Bullock, who runs the Ilkeston Slimming World group, was presented with a Gold Award at the organisation’s annual awards ceremony in Birmingham on June 20.
This is now the second time Jules has been honoured with the award.
In March, Jules also became one of Slimming World’s gold consultants, a title awarded in recognition of achieving the highest levels of support for slimmers and giving expert advice to help people reach their weight-loss goals.
As a result, Jules has been recognised as one of the organisation’s top consultants, meaning Ilkeston is home to some of the best slimming support in the UK.
Jules said: “I’m delighted to have received this Gold Award again.
“I love my job and feel so passionate about helping people to change their lives. Seeing them succeed is so rewarding and being given this recognition really is the icing on the cake.
“It’s not just a triumph for me though, this award belongs to my Ilkeston members too.
“They’re the ones who make our group the success it is, with their fabulous commitment, the lovely warm welcome they give new members and the wonderful compassionate support they give each other every week.”
Jules also said that she enjoys seeing her members grow in confidence as they lose weight.
She said: “I truly believe I have the best job in the world helping people to lose weight and achieve their dreams.
“I see members changing their health, becoming more active, trying out new foods and recipes and finding the courage to take on challenges that they’ve always dreamed of.
“Members who arrive at group with their self-esteem at rock bottom soon start to hold their heads high and stand tall as they lose weight successfully and share their experiences with the rest of the group.
“It was an honour to collect this award on stage in Birmingham – I just wish I could have taken all of my members with me!”
The Ilkeston group is held every Thursday at 5pm at the Arena Church.
Jules added: “Anything that helps people to lose weight by adopting healthy eating habits and becoming more active is making a difference, both to themselves and future generations too. I’m extremely proud to be a part of that difference.”
