Green groups share funding

TWO Ilkeston groups have benefited from a round of council funding for green projects.

South Street-based charity P3, for people with mental health issues in Erewash, has received £500 from Derbyshire County Council to pay for gardening equipment at its new organic gardening group in Long Eaton.

Mapperley CofE Primary School has received £225 for a sensory garden.

There will be seven garden beds installed with plants the children can touch and smell, sculptures and wind chimes.

The groups are among seven across Derbyshire which have received a share of £2,579.
