A DEDICATED headteacher has paid tribute to a ‘lovely’ primary school on his retirement.
Dave Smith is calling time on his teaching career after 38 years – the last 17 of which were spent at Smalley Richardson. The 59-year-old, who finished at the Main Road school at the end of term, now plans to spend more time with his granddaughter Evie, who is two. Dave, who also taught at Street Lane, Denby, said: “Smalley has been a big part of my life. It is hard to leave. It is a lovely little primary school with tremendous staff.”
