A COTMANHAY woman has told the Advertiser she will not get another cat after her third pet in six months has been found dead.

Linda Burns, of Nelson Street, featured in the Advertiser on November 17 after her cat, Cassie, had not been seen for several weeks.

Last week, Linda’s daughter found the eight-month-old animal dead on the Bankings, not far from the spot where Linda’s last cat was also found dead.

The family suspect that all three cats had been attacked by a dog and say they have information from other people in the area to back up their suspicions.

Linda said: “I’m so upset that this has happened again.

“It’s so sad, I won’t be having another cat while I’m living here, it’s too much of a risk and it’s not fair on the cats.

“For it to happen once was bad enough but three times in such a short space of time is devastating.

“I’ve spoken to the police and the RSPCA but they can’t act on hearsay.”

A spokesman for the RSPCA told the Advertiser that anyone with information about these or other incidents should contact them on 0300 1234 999.
