People can help clean up Ilkeston as part of a ‘borough blitz bonanza’.

Erewash Borough Council’s annual crackdown on litter and graffiti will run throughout March as armies of volunteers turn out to help blitz all corners of the borough.

The flagship project is led by the council’s Pride in Erewash team. Councillor Mike Wallis, the council’s portfolio holder for Pride in Erewash, said: “Our borough blitz continues to be a shining example of how working together can make a real difference and it remains an incredibly popular event on our calendar. Every year we are bowled over by the enthusiasm of people of all ages who have great pride in Erewash and want to help – it is a real community-boosting initiative. If you want to be a part of the Blitz, get in touch.”
