I lost my Mum three weeks ago, she spent the last week of her life receiving palliative care in Manners Ward in Ilkeston hospital. I stayed with her the last five days and was made most welcome.
The care my mum received was wonderful and I will never be able to thank the wonderful staff enough, being there meant that she was able to be seen by her own doctor, and it meant that her family were able to spend that precious time with her.
How can beds in this superb hospital be closed?
The nurses are angels and must keep their jobs, it would be such a loss to the community.
As a small thank you, my two sons are doing the Robin Hood Marathon to raise money so that we can donate something to Manners Ward in the memory of mum.
