SCHOOLCHILDREN will meet Queen Victoria and learn about life in Victorian Eastwood as part of celebrations for the upcoming Diamond Jubilee.
Throughout May the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre will be offering special ‘Queen Victoria tours’ and kids will be given Victorian clothing to meet her in – a pinafore for the girls and a waistcoat for the boys.
There will also be the chance for the kids to get crafty and make bunting and flags.
The tours will take place at the Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Victoria Street and Durban House Heritage Centre in Mansfield Road and will form part of an education package offered to schools and groups in the area.
