AN EXHIBITION of artwork inspired by the decline of the region’s lace industry will run at Erewash Museum from Thursday.
Artist Victoria Brown has strong family connections to lace manufacture in Nottingham and Derby and her work celebrates the past success of the industry, while also highlighting the sense of loss felt by its decline.
Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, said: “This exhibition promises to be both nostalgic and thought-provoking and will be a great display to visit as 2012 gets underway at our award winning Museum.”
The free exhibition at the High Street museum runs until Thursday February 9.
It is open Monday to Saturday during the school holidays from 10am to 4pm.
