LEAFLETS are being handed out in Eastwood to encourage people to report crime.
The move comes after several residents told an Eastwood town councillor their cars had been damaged, only for him to discover none of them had reported it to police.
Cllr Brian Griffin told inspector Charles Jardin at Eastwood Town Council meeting this week that seven residents had reported damage to their vehicles in Dovecote Road, Lynncroft and Barber Street, but none had reported it.
Police officers printed off leaflets asking residents to report crime when it happens and they will be posted through letterboxes in and around the affected area.
Cllr Griffin said the crimes were happening on Friday nights.
