Where have all the folk gone when harvest festival time comes around?
Having recently attended Chaucer Infant and Nursery School harvest festival I was pleasantly surprised at the response parents made.
The school hall was full to capacity with adults and children.
What a wonderful service with songs, prayers and a short talk from the Rev Sue Preston, plus food the children had bought in ffor the Arena Food Bank. Congratulations Chaucer.
Then it was time for our harvest at church. All the groups belonging to the church had been invited, plus loads of leaflets posted through doors.
But very few came. Why?
Was it because the service was held at church?
I don’t really know, so very sad. Perhaps someone could help me answer my questions.
We do try to make folk feel special in God’s house.
