Two bars have had their licences suspended after reports of ‘serious disorder’.

Police worked with Erewash Borough Council to suspend premises licences for the Kirk Hallam Social Club and Long Eaton’s Buzz Bar after violent incidents.

Applications to the council’s licensing sub-committee were made by officers after an incident at the Dallimore Road club in which a 22-year-old man was hit on the head with a pool cue on Saturday July 27.

And a 39-year-old suffered a broken ankle during an incident at the Buzz Bar in High Street on Wednesday July 24.

The suspensions will continue until a further hearing is held where the suspensions will be reviewed.

At that hearing the sub-committee could make permanent changes to the licences or may revoke them.
