Long Eaton schoolgirl Ellie Daley is helping bring Andy Warhol and his contemporaries to the next generation as she stars in a new Tate Gallery film introducing art to children.

Ellie, a pupil at The Elms Junior School, takes viewers on a journey through ‘Tate Kids Presents Pop Art’.

Ellie was chosen to star in the promotion through The Television Workshop in Nottingham and the five minute video was shot at Tate Liverpool at the ‘Transmitting Andy Warhol’ exhibition by Short Form Film in December.

Her mum, Diane, said: “ It was an exciting experience, travelling up to Liverpool the night before and meeting the director. It was an early call the next morning to meet with the crew and talk through the script Ellie had been sent a few days before.

“They filmed outside the gallery as well at The Albert Dock, Ellie said she felt like a filmstar.”
