Making registrar services easier

A NEW service means that residents will only have to provide details about a birth or death once instead of having to repeat the same information to every council and Government service.

Derbyshire county, district and borough councils have teamed up with the Department of Work and Pensions to launch the ‘Tell Us Once’ service for residents when they make an appointment to register a birth or death.

The registrar will collect all the details needed to inform relevant agencies on the family’s behalf so they don’t have to contact each organisation individually themselves. Other services informed on request include electoral services, libraries, children’s services, Blue Badge parking scheme and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
