A pensioner who collapsed following what police have described as an 'altercation' at a house in Ilkeston has died in hospital.
Police and paramedics were called to a property in Station Road at around 10.30am yesterday to reports of a dispute between two men inside.
Following the altercation, an 86-year-old man collapsed and was helped by passers-by.
He was taken to hospital but sadly died in the early hours of this morning.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: "His death is being treated as unexplained at this time and an investigation has been launched.
"We believe several people will have walked past the house after the incident and while the man was being treated by passers-by.
"We want to hear from these people and from anyone in the area who has CCTV.
