Man charged with spate of burglaries

A 25-year-old man has been charged with a spate of burglaries in Kimberley, Awsworth, Newthorpe and Long Eaton.

Shane Stephen Bright, of Ingram Road, Bulwell, is charged with burglary and theft at four houses.

These offences were allegedly committed at houses on Eastwood Road, Kimberley, Main Street in Awsworth and Park Hill in Awsworth, all on Friday 4 July, and Newthorpe Common, in Newthorpe, on Friday June 20.

He is also charged with burglary at a house in Vicarage Avenue, Long Eaton, on Friday June 20, the theft of a vehicle in Kimberley on Sunday June 29 and possession of a bladed implement in a public place on Monday August 4.

He was remanded into custody by Nottingham magistrates on Wednesday (August 6) until an appearance at Nottingham Crown Court at a later date.
