A man has been sentenced after an illegal haul of counterfeit cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco were seized at a shop in Stapleford.
Aram Majid-Amin, from Derby, the manager of the Robert Bower retail shop - was sentenced to a 100 hour community punishment order and told to pay £1,130 prosecution costs by Mansfield Magistrates after he admitted possessing dangerous products and goods with a false trade mark with the intention of selling them.
His conviction followed a inspection of the store in Derby Road, Stapleford in June by Nottinghamshire County Council trading standards.
Officers found six packets of counterfeit cigarettes on the counter which Majid-Amin initially tried to hide. Officers also found a locked box which contained a further 42 packets of cigarettes and 31 pouches of hand rolling tobacco - all of which was illicit or counterfeit.
