THE COST of school milk in Trowell, Stapleford and Awsworth primary schools has been hiked from £8 to £11 a term in the first increase in milk charges in almost three years.

Nottinghamshire county councillor Andy Stewart, said: “All under-fives and children aged between five- and seven-years-old who are eligible for free school meals will continue to receive their daily milk free.

“We are one of only a handful of local authorities across the country that still supplies free milk.”
