An Ilkeston soldier has told the ‘Tiser how he strips off to raise cash for comrades killed and injured in war.

Naico Andreoli, 22, is a RRS infantry combat assault soldier, who has been on various tours of Afghanistan.

But in his spare time he does fitness modelling and photo shoots to make money for his comrades injured or to support the families of those killed on the front line.

He explained: “I train really hard and obvioulsy being a soldier gives me the focus to keep in great shape.

“I got asked to do a bit of modelling for this company and it all went from there really.

“When I was told what I would be paid for it I thought I should donate it to some charities that I know do a great job supporting soldiers.”

Naico, who has raised cash in the past by running from East midlands Airport to Ilkeston, donates almost all of the money he makes from modelling to Help For Heroes, and the Soldier’s Charity.

Since he last featured in the Advertiser Naico signed up to the forces and went from being nine stone to 14, which he said was part of the reason he decided to show off his new physique.

But his out of work antics do earn him some stick from his fellow soldiers.

Naico said: “They think it’s funny, they would never expect someone like me to do it but when they find out that I do it to raise cash for other army boys they think it’s great.

“I always knew they would have something to say about but I don’t mind it.”
