Mollie’s ballet dreams come true at show

A young dancer from Stanley Common is set to take the stage alongside top international artists.

And at just 13, Mollie McGugan’s dreams have already come true.

The Kirk Hallam Community, Technology and Sports College student, who has been named as one of the region’s top young dancers was picked by the English Youth Ballet at an audition in March from more than 350 young hopefuls to appear in a new adaptation of Swan Lake.

Talented Mollie, who is playing the role of a swan, will experience the life of a professional ballet dancer as she embarks on a 10-day intensive rehearsal at the Emmanuel School in West Bridgford.

English Youth Ballet mananger Ben Garner said the experience will be one of the highlights of Mollie’s career in ballet.

She is currently training at the Rollo Academy of Performing Arts.

The show runs for three performances at the Nottingham’s Theatre Royal on Friday July 27 at 7.30pm and Saturday July 28 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
