Health chiefs in Erewash are urging parents of eligible children to take advantage of the free flu vaccine as soon as possible.
Too few toddlers are having the seasonal flu vaccine, according to chief medical officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies. Figure show that just a quarter of eligible toddlers have had their free flu vaccine.
Dr Avi Bhatia, Chair of NHS Erewash Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The flu vaccine is available free to all eligible two to four-year-olds and is the best way a parent can protect their little ones and those that come into contact with their children.
“The nasal spray is excellent for children as it removes the need for needles and is quick, effective and painless.”
