Officers investigating the theft of a motorcycle have appealed for help to trace the stolen bike.

At about 12 noon on Monday July 11 a house on Ascot Place in Kirk Hallam, Ilkeston was burgled. The house was occupied at the time by residents who were upstairs.

Two men, one described as white, wearing a balaclava covering his face, grey Nike tracksuit bottoms and a dark blue Adidas top came into the house through the kitchen door. They stole a Honda CR 125 motocross bike from the kitchen.

The two men were chased onto Avondale Drive and in their haste to escape they almost ran into a young mother and child.

Detective Constable Phil Harris, who is investigating the burglary, would like to speak to the woman who was with her child and also anyone who either saw the bike being stolen or has seen it since.

DC Harris can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 16000188860, or people can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
