Natural England gives park the thumbs up

Shipley Country Park has been accredited by Natural England.

The Derbyshire County Council visitor attraction, between Ilkeston and Heanor, had to meet exacting standards to pass the country park scheme.

The park had to prove it has easy-to-follow paths, good access to toilets and has good information for visitors.

Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport Cllr Chris Jackson said: “Being accredited by Natural England proves what a great visitor attraction Shipley Country Park really is.

“We’re delighted with the news and hope it encourages even more people to visit and enjoy the outdoor entertainment it offers.”

A free Guide to Shipley Country Park leaflet is available at the visitor centre, and information panels can be found in each car park.
