The DERBY and Derbyshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has appointed a new chief executive.

David Sharp will take up the position with immediate effect at a time of NHS reform which sees PCTs working in ‘clusters’ as part of plans to give commissioning powers to GPs.

Mr Sharp said: “While there are clearly tough times ahead I am looking forward to working with staff and partners across the county and city to meet the challenges we face. I’m confident we can work towards a smooth transition, building on the work already undertaken by the two trusts.”
