Derby College have appointed a new principal following the retirement of David Croll.
Mandie Stravino starts her role as principal and chief executive this week.
Mandie has been promoted from her role as deputy principal and has been on the college’s management team since 1998.
She said: “I am extremely proud and honoured to be appointed as principal and CEO for Derby College.
“Although these are challenging times, we remain focused on our role to ensure students are ready for the next stage in their lives; to provide employers with the workforce they need to compete in the global economy; and to improve local communities by supporting young people to be positive citizens.”
Chair of Governors Janet Morgan added: “We are delighted that Mandie will be at the helm of the organisation at such a crucial time for the College.
“As well as a new academic year, development work continues at a pace. Work continues on sports facilities at Broomfield Hall and we are progressing with plans to provide new facilities for our students in Ilkeston.”
