Five generations of an Ilkeston family are alive and Kicking — after the arrival of a bouncing baby boy.

The close-knit Henshaw family now span almost a century with newborn Theo , the fifth living generation, joining his dad Tyler Henshaw, 18; grandmother Collette Henshaw, 36; great grandmother Liz Celino, 60; and great great grandmother Margery Wright, 95.

Great grandmother Liz expressed her delight at their latest addition. She said: “It was a bit of a shock at first but I love Theo to bits, he’s as cute as a button.”

Liz, a full time carer for her elderly mother Margery, believes the birth of little Theo gave Margery the strength to battle a recent illness. She said: “My mother is blind and deaf and has numerous heart problems. She was quite ill last year and we were worried she wasn’t going to make it.

“When she found out that Tyler was going to become a dad, it seemed to give her something to fight for. She can’t see or hear Theo but she loves him to bits. She’ll sit there and just cuddle him, it’s really sweet to see.”

Theo’s great aunt Kirsty Celino, 20, was equally excited about the family’s new addition. She said: “Theo’s adorable, when I held him it made me want to have a baby but I don’t think I’m ready yet.”
